Although Shorty Smooth has been around the Steppin' scene for a few years now, he's still a relative new comer. So I'd be lying if told you that I didn't ask three times consecutively if Shorty really won the CMD contest. I had to make sure I heard it right. I haven't watched this brother jam since we were at the Pines together, which seems like almost a year and a half ago. Although he was smooth then, I wouldn't have imagined that he'd best "Westside" Mike, among others, in a steppers competition only a year or so later.

Rose went from a quiet, low-key, long-haired, strong-armed stepper from Kankakee, Il, to a loose-lipped, loose-armed, short-tempered, short-haired fireball from Chicago. Rose has been on the set longer than most people know, but because of her quiet demeanor, she slid under the radar. In all honesty, I thought Ja Rule was finished. He had obviously gotten the worst of the 50 Cent battle, and let the media tell it, the man was a few sandwiches away from being homeless. What a sad ending to a promising and fun rap career, I thought. Boy was I wrong. We pulled up to a beautiful gated mansion in Jersey, and Rule's Maybach, along with about 3 other rides were parked out front. The house is beautifully decorated with vibrant colors, and his 3 beautiful children were pushing transformer toys through the house.

Flint fills a tiny little space when you look at the glove of Michigan. There is not much going on in the city other than playing host to a couple of universities, some historical landmarks and a population of 125,000. However, two individuals are making Flint be known for something that matters to many people in the steppers community. The birthplace of Feo (not Theo) Duncan and Candace Hinton.

I recently sat down with Feo and Candace to get a little information about the couple that has been referenced to as “Fred and Ginger”, “Tic and Danielle Jr.” and “The Dynamic Duo.”

The ladies had their turn with Djimon Hounsou, and now I have to represent for the fellas with the amazingly gorgeous, Gabrielle Union. I remember when BET did its 50 most beautiful Black women episode ... I had Gabrielle in my personal top 5. So I'm at the back of a party mingling with a few folk, and who walks up but the star of "Deliver Us From Eva" and "The Perfect Holiday" and so many other flicks. Gabrielle started right in on the fact that she was single and although she had been paired with the whose who of high profile celebrity men, it just wasn't true.
