Dre's Birthday and Christmas Party (Pics Included)
Dre had one day to plan his Birthday / Christmas Party on Christmas Eve of 2008, but it turned out really nice. It felt like old times, as DJ Cross, Dre and Company's resident DJ for over 10 years was on the 1's and 2's dropping the hits. Both Dre and Lynessa had birthday lines that didn't end. What I intended on being a 30 minute stop, turned in to 4 hours. I bumped in to Lil' Darren Ulmer, who introduced me to his wife. They looked good as she sported a white and black houndstooth jacket and he wore the matching hat. Darren said, "T.

A Party With A Purpose
I travelled out west recently for my homey Akkeem "The Dream" Berry's birthday party at the Rose Banquets. Akkeem, also the founder of Saving Our Sons, Inc., a nonprofit organization aimed at helping youngsters navigate through violence, crime, and more, always attaches a purpose to his gatherings. This particular evening Akkeem, accompanied by his wife Denise Berry, treated guests to a full buffett, a James Brown impersonator, spoken word, and a pantomime performance where he took the lead on performing Joe Love's "Ghetto."

After 7 Production Christmas Review (Pics Included)
A lit Santa Claus, snowmen and gift boxes adorned the DJ booth at the Dorchester on Saturday, December 13th. It must be Christmas time. Steppers took a break from shopping, gift-giving, sending cards, trimming trees, attending children's plays, religious services for a good ole Christmas party. After 7 Production hosted their Christmas party suited in ....what else, shades of red. I also had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday with t

Kings of Swing Christmas Party (Pics Incuded)
I had no intentions of going Stepping on Wednesday, but my homey Charnice Simmons, a sweetheart for the Kings of Swing, told me to come on out and it was a great decision. The party was off the chain, and Dave Maxx and "Unique" Maurice Turner killed it in the DJ booth. I walked in the booth to speak to Maxx, and caught him in the midst of a conversation. The funny thing is ...

Dreamgirls & A True Steppers Connection Review (Pics Included)
My first time at the Belevadere Chateau was a year ago for the Ladies of Unique Connection and A True Steppers Connection's Party, where I reported an attendance that was off the Richter scale. Ms.

The 1925 Review
Sunday is my day to chill out and collect hugs and kisses from my baby girl, but after a call from Sunshine, and much ado made in the ChiStepper forum about the 1925, I had to check the spot out. The 1925 is located at 1925 W. 95th St. in Chicago, and much to my surprise it’s a banquet hall, not a club. I actually drove right by the non-assuming spot, looking for Sunshine’s traditional club setting, and ended up on Jeffrey. I eventually found my way back and a good parking spot to boot.

Christine Jones Caps Off A Long Year
Finally winding down from Chicago's first major convention, and gearing up for another major party just two weeks removed from the convention, Christine admits that she has not marketed her party with A True Stepper Connection on December 12th like she usually does. Christine says, "My club members have really come through for me. I was down and they picked it up for me. They sold thousands of dollars worth of convention tickets for me when I couldn't get out."

DJ Mellow Khris' Birthday Party
It seemed as if a chapter had been pulled from the 2001 handbook of great 3G's parties last night at Club D’Elegance, where a number of top Steppers came out in support DJ Mellow Khris’ birthday party. I intended on having pictures for you all, but my dumb self left the SD card for my camera in my laptop. Nevertheless, there was still enough fun and/or funny stuff to talk about.

Let’s Make Some Adjustments: Chicago Convention Pt. 2
As an out of towner and an eight year veteran of going to Chicago for steppers sets, I would say that this past weekend’s activities were favorable and unfortunately unfavorable for many of the Out-of-Towners (OOT's). First of all, let me start of by saying that Friday night’s event at the Willowbrook has always been the crème de la crème of steppin' affairs for many OOTs. Pete Frazier and The Majestic Gents hit gold with that brainchild. It’s the type of place where you have a pretty good view whether sitting or standing.

Convention Weekend Wrap Up
The Holiday Inn’s Convention Center in Tinley Park, IL was packed with many of the finest Steppers in the nation for the Dreamgirls, Majestic Gents, and VIP Productions’ major Steppers convention on Saturday. The fairly light turnout at the Willowbrook Ballroom in Willow Springs, IL, which we estimated at about 700 – 800 steppers, was no indication of the massive amount of Steppers who would grace the floor the very next night.
