Eve gets out of the car and slams the door. She begins walking home undaunted by Mike’s behavior. She’s so used to men disrespecting her that at this point it really doesn’t matter. The one main thing that she wanted to accomplish was to piss Candi off, and now that she did it, she knew that eventually everything else would work out.

Back at the club

Sparkle: That was some shit!

Red: Hell yeah! I aint know Candi was gangster like that!

Sparkle: I didn’t either. She beat that girl ass!

Red: No doubt.

Sparkle: I can’t believe what a punk Eve is. She didn’t even put up a fight. I can’t stand punk ass b%^&es!

Red: (Laughing)

Sparkle: But that shit aint funny. This could effect the contest.

Red: You think so? I think it’ll blow over. Mike and J are boys, they’ll get through this shit.

Sparkle: Please! Jabari aint gonna want no parts of Mike ignorant ass after this stunt!

Red: You might be right about that.

Now Red was worried. He depended heavily on the money that he made at contest time. For five years straight the contest had been rigged for him to take the grand prize, and he couldn’t afford for it to go any other way this time.

Red: So what we gonna do? What you got on your mind?

Sparkle: Well, I got two things I’m thinking on right now.

Red: I’m sure your trifling ass is scheming on something.

Sparkle: Whatever nicca. We gonna do this contest or what?

Red: We?

Sparkle: Yeah nicca we!

Red: I dunno man.

Sparkle: Muth^&%5 what is there to know? I’ve won before, you’ve won before. Me and you can do this shit!

Red: (smiling) Yeah … maybe we can. But first we gotta build some chemistry.

Sparkle: What? Nicca I can go! It aint a stepper no where that I can’t groove with.

Red: Awe baby I know you can dance. I ain’t doubting that, but I got to build a certain bond with my partner before I get in a contest with them.

Sparkle: (Smiling to herself) Well when and where would you like to bond at ? (Laughing

Red: Let’s go in the mens room.

Sparkle: The mens room?

Red: Yeah, cuz I’d hate to have you get you knees all scarred up on the pavement outside.
