After spending time with Maino, the artist who recorded "Hi Hater" and T. I., the Atlanta-bred rapper with the hottest album in the country right now, I was inspired to come back and right the piece "Haters on the Steppers Scene." These gentlemen have faced their fair share of hating, and the solution they offer is to keep going up. Success is the ultimate revenge to those who hate on you.

Do to my own tough upbringing, I identify with the dual personalities that rappers present. On their records, they talk tough, brag about their gangsta exploits, and mean mug the camera in their videos. In real life, it's like hanging out with one of your cousins or uncles. Theses guys crack jokes, play with their children, and show compassion to their significant others. That is not to say that they're faking on the records, but that sometimes haters can bring out the worst in you.

Many of you might know that T. I. is starring at a year in jail for purchasing machine guns. Some of you might not know that Maino spent 10 years in prison for kidnapping. You can get the full story on this in the December issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine. On newsstands now!
