To The Steppin Community: I hope this letter finds all in good spirit and cheers. I'm writing this letter to appologize to those who attended the WLSC in Chicago on September 20, 2008. I was not aware of the delay in the show and honestly wasn't given the agenda for the event. If I actually knew that people were going to be sitting 4 hours before my performance, I would have definitely changed things up to no more than 3 songs. My sincerest apologies goes out to those who wanted to dance more that evening. I know the real K'Jon supporters will take this to heart and continue to support my career as "On The Ocean" has reached No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip Hop Single Sales (click link below).

I too understand that in the public eye, many run to take advantage of negative situations. My job is to hold accountability and so again, my apologies to those who were disappointed with the length and song selection during my show. I too know that you can't please everyone and but you cannot ignore sincere complaints. I wish all peace and prosperity. It is always a pleasure to be involved at any steppin event. Hope to speak to each and everyone soon.
Sincerely,
K'Jon

Very Noble
What a noble spirit you have shown by submitting this apology. I admire you even more now. I love live jazz, so I enjoyed you and your band's performance at WLSC but agree that due to the extended time frame of the contest, I became exhausted. Congrats on the No. 1 hit that packs our dance floors here in Chicago. Thanks again for this expression of remorse. Keep flying higher.
Still your fan and supporter

Peace Family,
Although I appreciate K'Jon's apology with the utmost of respect and sincerity, we can't let him feel like he was the sole reason for the delay of the show. A shout out again to K'Jon, he did what he was hired and paid to do, perform. Remember he's still trying to sell records. A shout out again to the Majestic Gents for putting together, still, the hottest contest of the year. Of course there could have been a smoother job done logistically, especially with limiting the amount of participating contestants. There were other problems also revealed, after the contest, and they have surely been addressed and I believe acknowledged, promptness, late delivered music, etc, etc, I don't think we have to revisit the past or continue to point fingers, but the reality of it was that the show was just entirely too long, and exhaustion definitely kicked in and was a factor. The Majestic Gents also share in this responsibility as the host. As the brother stated "If I actually knew people were going to be sitting 4 hours BEFORE my performance....", he would have changed things up. As a performer, in my opinion he was slighted a bit, because he did not get the opportunity to receive our full attention and enthusiasm, because the hour was getting late and most of us were tired as hell, so again SHOUT OUT TO K'JON, BUT BRO IT WAS NOT ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT!!!...KEEP DOIN' YA THING!!!
K'JON !!!!! ...IS WHAT WE WERE YELL'N
Even though we were tired...we(me & my girls)were still looking forward to your performance K'JON, which was GREAT!!! I liked the fact that you sang other songs from the CD in addition to everyone's favorite "On the Ocean" and the live band wwhhoooo they were good too....! So keep up the good work sweetie, i'm proud to see my brothers on a positive note :) ONE LUV... Oh yeah the dancers performance was good too...I love a change from the norm'....

K-JON-GREAT PERFORMANCE
K-Jon's show was fantastic! Though I sat for 4 hours, his performance was the highlight of the whole show. He's a very positive and down to earth person. I have seen him perform in West LaFayette, Indiana and at the Country Club Hills Theater, and during his performances at both locations he made a point to meet and greet all the fans that has been supporting his career thus far.
At TWLSC his band was great and I appreciated his performance. One of his songs that I love is "On The Ocean" and everytime I hear him sing it I can't stop myself from screaming.
The night would not have been complete without him singing my favorite song that I love to step to whenever I have the opportunity.

K-Jon, I agree with everyone on this blog...your performance was great...You did your thing...However, the lack of professional communication with you and your band is NOT your fault,.. As it was stated you came to sing and that you did and very well I might add...
Thanks for the outstanding letter...we need more performers like you in the business....Congrats on "The Ocean" being #1...it's one of my favorite on your C.D.
We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned so we can
have the life God has waiting for us.

Great Performance
Thanks Kjon for thinking of the steppers so much as to comment on your performance that night. but as many people have said there is no need to apologize for something u had no control over. this was my first time at the WLS contest and was unpleasantly surprised with all the sitting space and the dance floor being minimized so much. I think your performance made the fee justifiable in the end. because i had no plans of sitting around for so many hours and not getting the chance to dance, due to the overcrowding on the floor. you seem like a professional guy and i'm glad we all had the chance to see your versatility in your music, not only in the steppers world but also as a R&B artist overall. Thanks for the perfomance it was great! and yeah the band was Fire! Nice Job!
