After 7 Production Review
after 7 2.jpg

I didn't plan on doing a review for After 7 this month but with noteworthy causes happening, I couldn't resist. After 7 Productions continues to be full of surprises every time I go.

First up, Monique Salter's "Step and Think Pink" breast cancer awareness foundation was in the hallway of the Dorchester Ballroom giving out free pink ribbon pins and breast cancer pamphlets to everyone that came in. It is her belief that through this non-profit organization, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease. Many didn't hesitate to purchase one of the gourmet pink lollipops displayed on the pink table in support of this greatly needed cause. I noticed almost everyone in the place, including all the members of After 7 Production, Alonzo, Billy, James, Bobby, JC, Smooth and Dominic, wearing pink ribbons with their grey suits. The support was greatly appreciated.

Dr. Diedry Brown and her sister Venetia Clark were there and announced their upcoming Male Auction Stepper's set October 19, 2008. There will be over 30 eligible bachelors available to the highest bidder. This is not a ladies only affair, you can even auction your mate ... as long as you don't mind possibly getting out bided. The event is sponsored by the Mary A. R. Brown Scholarship Fund which is in honor of their mother, Mary A. R. Brown. The foundation provides financial assistant to anyone pursuing college. This unparalleled steppers event promises to be full of excitement.

It's always nice when promoters give back to the steppin' community and many have shown gratitude at their sets. Hey Hey Fred and Mrs. Rose is giving an "Appreciation Set" on November 1st. This is their "thank you" set for your support throughout the year.

As you can see, the steppin' community has gone above and beyond the ordinary social gathering, although birthday parties continue to be popular at the sets. Of course every day of living is a celebration and that's why it is equally special to celebrate your anniversary of birth. I'd like to give recognition to those birthday recipients that choose After 7 to do this with. The clubs very own James, my good friend Debbie Ruth and Vicki Henning from Milwaukee celebrated birthdays at the party. May God bless you with many more.

On a sad note, DJ Lavell C announced that DJ Steve "Breeze" Brewer had taken ill and was in recovery in the hospital. ChiStepper.com wishes you a speedy recovery and our prayers are with you. We need you back in action soon.

Dave Maxx gives the keys to "Walking." According to Maxx, "Steppin' is from the Torso down, Walking is from the Torso up. The woman's butt should lead her backwards when she receives the push from the male lead."
