Sparkle is glowing with pride as she realizes that soon she’ll have Jabari eating out of the palm of her hand. She thinks long and hard about her strategy to discreetly disrupt the business relationship of Jabari and Mike in order to solidify a place for her ambitions to grow. What she needed to know was all of the inner workings of the business, and she knew that the best source of support for a man’s business was his woman. Sparkle had to get Candi to trust her enough to spill Mike’s secrets to her. She picks up her phone and dials Candi’s number.
 
Candi: (Still sniffling) Hello.
 
Sparkle: Hey girl, are you alright?
 
Candi: Not really girl, I think I made some bad decisions today.
 
      Sparkle sighs to herself and wishes she didn’t have to pretend to be concerned
 
Sparkle: Awe honey what’s going on ?
 
Candi: (sniffling) Well, I went over to Eve’s earlier and I got the wrong idea. I mean I thought Eve was trying to be suggestive with my husband, and I probably just over reacted, and well … I think I may have hurt her feelings.
 
Sparkle, having heard this same sad ass story from Eve, is reluctant to listen to it again, but is curious about hearing Candi’s side. She laughs inside as she thinks about what an idiot Candi must be.
 
Sparkle: What? Why would you think something like that?
 
Candi: Well, when I got there she was wearing lingerie and it seems as if she was expecting Mike to be there. Well, I got confrontational with her about it and now I regret it.
 
Sparkle: She was what? Wearing Lingerie?
 
Candi: Yes, and she was in a suggestive pose and I just didn’t know what to think….
 
Sparkle: What do you mean you didn’t know what to think? I think that hoe was trying to get at Mike is what I think! I know damn well you don’t trust her?
 
Candi: Well, she made some valid points. She said that her and Mike were friends and that I was just overreacting.
 
Sparkle: Girl please! That trick has been after Mike for ages!
 
Candi: Huh?
 
Sparkle: You heard me! She has been throwing herself at him forever. I always thought it was ridiculous.
 
Candi: Well she said that they dated.
 
Sparkle: Even more reason why you shouldn’t trust her. Let me tell you something Candi, you can’t trust these women on the set. They will sleep with your man and grin in your face all in the same day. Especially b!7@hes like Eve.
 
Candi: What do you mean by that?
 
Sparkle: (shaking her head) Girl you are going to have to stick close by me so that I can show you the ropes.
 
Candi: I just don’t understand.
 
Sparkle: It’s these women on the set. Eve is a classic example. See she’s not like you and I. We have beauty, brains, class, and charisma. She ain’t nothing but a thirsty hood rat desperate for attention.
 
Candi: I don’t know girl, I really think that I misjudged the situation.
 
Sparkle: Girl you aint misjudged nothing! What you should have done was whopped her ass. Look if you gonna be hanging with me your going to have to wise up. Trust me, Eve has done this many times before.
 
Candi: I hear you but I really feel like I did something wrong.
 
Sparkle: Well look, I support you in any way that you need me to, but I really believe that your first mind is your right mind.
 
Candi: Thanks Sparkle, I’ll let you know if anything changes.
 
Sparkle: Okay and I want you to know that you have a friend in me, and that I’m here if you need to talk.
 
Candi: Thanks Sparkle, that means a lot to me. So what did you call me for? I know I must have thrown you off with my drama.
 
Sparkle: Oh nothing, I just called to check on you, and tell you that your stepping is really getting better. You’ll be doing your thing in no time. Me and you just need to hang out a little more so that we can practice.
 
Candi: Thanks so much girl! I appreciate you trying to help me.
 
Sparkle: Girl it’s cool. I’m enjoying teaching you.
 
Candi: Well let me go, I need to call Mike and tell him about what happened today.
 
Sparkle: Okay, I’ll see you at the set tonight.
 
Candi: Okay, talk to you tonight.
 
Candi hangs up the phone to call Mike and tell him what went on between her and Eve. She hopes that Mike isn’t too disappointed in her behavior.
 
Mike: Hello.
 
Candi: Hey Honey. We need to talk.
 
Mike: Your damn right we do!
 
Candi: What’s wrong Mike?
 
Mike: I just got off the phone with Eve.
 
Candi: That’s what I called you for.
 
Mike: Oh, yeah. Well she told me how you went over there ranting and raving with her.
 
Candi: I know Mike, and I’m sorry.
 
Mike: Sorry! You cannot just walk around doing shit like that Candi! Don’t you realize that I run a business on this set!
 
Candi: Yes Mike, I do. But…
 
Mike: But nothing Candi! I told you from the very beginning that the set was important to me, and that there are rules out here.
 
Candi: I know Mike, but please listen…
 
Mike: I aint trying to here you Candi. I’m not going to have my wife out here undermining me, and sabotaging relationships that I have built. You are really going to have to get over yourself Candi, because I aint putting up with this shit.
 
Candi: Mike, I overreacted, I’m trying to apologize to you if you would just…
 
Mike: Just what Candi? Just sit back and watch you embarrass me and yourself?
 
Candi: No Mike.
 
Mike: Look, I’ll tell you what. You stay your ass at home tonight, because maybe the set is a little too much for you right now.
 
Candi: Mike that’s not it!
 
Mike: Candi, that’s it and this is final. You are off the set, until I say otherwise.
 
Candi: No way!
 
Mike: What?
 
Candi: I said No way!
 
Mike: I told you a long time ago, that I hated a woman that didn’t know her place, and now you’re starting to act like one. You are going to stay your black narrow ass off the set, until I decide if you can handle it or not.
 
Candi: I am not your child. I will come and go as I please. You do not order me around like you own me. No man will ever own me again! (Crying hysterically)
 
Mike: What the hell do you mean own you again?
 
Candi: It doesn’t matter what I mean, you just need to understand what I said.
