K Jon is one of those artists that only come around every couple of years. They say that out of the mouths of babes comes wisdom. Well, what comes out of their feet? Fourteen year old stepper, John Jenkins, from North Carolina knows. This very courteous young man is making a name for himself and his dance all over the country and has no plans on stopping anytime soon. The stepping community has permanent fixtures in its society. First of all, you have the steppers and the steppin’ organizations. Second, you have the DJ's. Third, you have the venues and last, you have the “Ya hirs” (aka CD Tracy, aka YBY Productions). After a couple years of sitting back and hearing about ChiStepper commentaries and forum comments, Ya hir (pronounced yah-ear) insisted on giving some members of the Chicago steppin’ community a tongue lashing about the misrepresentation of the dance.

There have only been two Master's Categories of the World's Largest Steppers Contest. The Master's Category was designed for the sole purpose of having the best compete against the best. Cynthia Shanks and her partner Greg won the very first one, and Maurice Turner and Tina Moore won the second one.
