Drew “The Phenom” Alexander has made it expressly clear that dancing is his business, and the most dominant dancer in the game today definitely means business as he continues to rack up victories and cement his legacy in the dance. This past weekend Drew placed him alongside greats like Tyk Myn, Dre, Westside Mike and Maurice Turner, who have entered events and swept nearly every category. Drew’s partner for Steppin and Walkin was Trina Perryman, and for Greystone is was Anne “Diva”.
This past Saturday night Drew won the Steppin, Walking, and Greystone categories of the “Champions of Dance Event” at Adriano’s in Warren, Michigan held by Versatile Entertaiment. The Phenom is $2,500 richer for his efforts and a little bit closer to his dream of having a dance school. To that end, I always wondered why individuals who taught Steppin for a living didn’t enter more Steppin competitions. After all, if you’re really good, it would seem that the money could add another $12,000 to $15,000 untaxed dollars to your yearly income. But I digress.
Congrats to the Phenom, who already is already sending a message in 2014 that he doesn’t plan to take his foot off the other competitors’ necks. Look at the bright side … there’s always second place! Well, this contest was winner take all, but you get my point.
