Ken Bedford has built a brand in the Steppin community on providing live entertainment during Steppin events, usually at incredible locations. He struggled early to find the right formula, as he usually attracted a nice crowd, but no new or old school Heavy Hitters. Through the right partnerships however, and a slight change of strategy, Ken is becoming a force in the Steppin community. This year alone he’s brought K’Jon, CarMichael, Feloney, and Cardell to name a few. In the past he’s had everyone from The Manhattans, The Temptations and Charlie Wilson.
Ken Bedford is no stranger to doing things big; he is an Emmy award winning photojournalist for Chicago’s ABC-TV7 news and a former videographer for Oprah Winfrey. He was also known for throwing incredible Skating parties back in the day.
Ken Bedford’s vision will land the Steppin community an intimate evening of Steppin’ with incomparable and incredibly beautiful Chante Moore on Friday, June 14th at the Lexington House. Chante is no stranger to the Steppin community, as she performed for Jerome Montgomery’s “Windy City National Steppers Congress” event as well. Personally, Chante is one of my all-time favorites with a plethora of sultry Steppin records sure to make for a great night of Steppin. Here are a few that are top of mind: Love’s Taken Over (Rain Mix); I Cry To Myself; Bitter; Do For You; Special; It’s Alright; Wey U; Loveable and Beautiful Distraction w/ Kenny Lattimore; Inside My Love (Minnie Riperton Cover); and many others.
See you there!
