An Exclusive Interview w/ Kiana Moore Including Commentary From Tyk Myn
It’s not easy to come up with individuals to interview for ChiStepper. Many of the people being interviewed usually have to have a connection to the steppin' industry in a historical sense, competitive rankings, promotion of the dance through their advanced level of skill, and or the like. I think this may be the very first interview that I have done that meets all of the criteria for a ChiStepper exclusive interview. In her own quiet way, Kiana Moore has paved the way for a lot of women in steppin' … especially in the humble beginnings of Anthony “Tyk Myn” Allen himself.

Exclusive Interview w/ Lady Margaret Fisher
With World's Largest contest wins dating back to 2000 and her most recent wins coming in 2008, Lady Margaret has been laying it down for 8 of the 10 years that she's been dancing. Margaret and Dre upped the ante 3 years back when they changed Steppin' contests forever by added breathtaking dips and high energy showmanship.
Then, there's the controversial side of Margaret ... the side that lead many to believe that she both creates and enjoys drama. Lady Margaret addresses this and more in her first ever ChiStepper interview.

Khalil (DramaFree) and Shonta' Muhammad: When one partner steps and the other one doesn't
In the world of steppin’, it’s not unusual to find many couples on the set who share a common interest in the dance. Some Steppers choose to come out together and there are those who choose to go to different venues on different days. Then there are couples with different interests; one partner likes to go out steppin’ and the other one doesn’t. I chatted with one married couple, Khalil, better known as Dramafree on the ChiStepper message board, and lovely wife Shontá (pronounced Shon-tay) Muhammad to get varying viewpoints of how to balance this kind of relationship.

Exclusive Interview w/ Oakland's Damone Hodges
For some time, when Chicagoans thought of Steppin' in Cali, Los Angeles came to mind. Most are probably not aware of that the fact that about 5 hours north, the Bay Area has a community that rivals L. A's. Damone Hodges, with his partner Malik, are two intructors that have helped pave the way for Chicago Steppin' in Oakland. Check it out ChiSteppers.

An Exclusive Interview with LaKeesha Anderson (WLSC Out-of-Town Runner Up)
I think there are some things that a person may want to think about before they step foot on the floor at a stepper’s set and/or a the World's Largest Steppers Contest. Your life automatically changes. For some people, it can change in a good way. For others, there are some haunting and negative memories that never go away. Detroit native, LaKeesha Anderson, who came in second with James Pacely in the Out-of-Town category this year is determined to make her experience in steppin' a positive one.

K'Jon Addresses His WLSC Performance
To The Steppin Community: I hope this letter finds all in good spirit and cheers. I'm writing this letter to appologize to those who attended the WLSC in Chicago on September 20, 2008. I was not aware of the delay in the show and honestly wasn't given the agenda for the event. If I actually knew that people were going to be sitting 4 hours before my performance, I would have definitely changed things up to no more than 3 songs. My sincerest apologies goes out to those who wanted to dance more that evening.

An Exclusive Interview w/ James Pacely
ChiStepper has never been in the business of spotlighting people just because. It usually takes someone getting noticed on some scale be it in the area of promotions, music or the dance itself. Well, this is such an occasion to recognize another wonderful talent from the city of Detroit who actually came up short as some would say in this years WLSC. James Pacely was the second runner up to Drew Alexander and Sherry Gordon (Detroit) which was met with controversy over some feeling that James and his partner, LaKeesha Anderson should have come in first place.

An Exclusive Interview with Robin Summerrize
One thing the steppin' world is not short of is ladies. There are many standouts in the Chicago community that have risen and some who are currently rising on the scene. One such example is of a young go getter by the name of Robin Summerrize. She is entered the WLSC this year for the second time. Many know her by her long wavy hair; others know her by her ever present smile, but most know her for her dainty and feminine style. Chistepper took the time to sit down with Robin to put a name with the face and the dance.
